Broadband free space elastomer absorber
Eccosorb FGM is available in two thicknesses (FGM-40 at 0.040"" and FGM-125 at 0.125"") with different performance pending on targeted frequency band. The thinner FGM-40 will easily conform to contoured surfaces and both FGM-40 and FGM-125 can be bonded to metallic or non-metallic structures. Based on silicone, Eccosorb FGM is completely impervious to moisture and can be subjected to outdoor environments and high altitudes including space with no adverse effects. It can be easily cut with a knife or die and can be held in place with an optional Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA). ECCOSORB FGM is used to line cavities in which antennas operate. These may be aircraft nacelles or caps to isolate radiation for test purposes. It may be applied to surfaces to improve radar performance, reduce radar cross section or backscattering.

Eccosorb JCS is waterproof and has excellent thermal characteristics, tolerating high and low temperatures. Eccosorb JCS is a pure dielectric absorber with no magnetic properties (permeability = 1). Eccosorb JCS is used to lower cavity Qs in RF amplifiers, oscillators, cabinets containing microwave devices, computer housings, LNBs, and isolation of antennas by insertion loss. It is also used to reduce surface currents on radiating elements and outer ground-plane type surfaces.

These silicone rubber sheets are designed to be bonded to flat or curved metallic surfaces to reduce the reflectivity in a narrow band of frequencies. Eccosorb SF reflects -20 dB or less of normally incident microwave energy at the design frequency in the range of 1 to 26 GHz.

Being a silicone based absorber, it has low out-gassing properties for space or optical applications. When placed within a cavity, Eccosorb MCS has proven to be very effective at dampening resonances due to the absorbers high permittivity and permeability as well as high loss values, which in turn reduces the overall VSWR. It is designed for the suppression of surface currents over a wide range of frequencies but is also useful in reducing RF coupling of antennas and microwave components
